Senior Thesis : BREAK

This collection is from my Senior Thesis known as BREAK. BREAK was created through out the Spring of 2021. This run of the series has a total of 7 images of varying sizes.
This is a body of work that takes the basic human form in portraiture and makes it into artwork that is more dynamic. With typical portraiture, the focus is limited to the subject and the realistic rendering of the subject. So, instead of the limitations being put on to what a portrait can portray, the limits are put on to what could be used to make the portrait. The style of the artwork is a mix between two contemporary styles, Geometric abstraction and fragmentation. The resulting art style is one of sharp shapes and bold, high chroma colors that compose the figure in an interesting way. The intent of this body of work is to create a series of portraits that elevates the visual experience of portraiture.
